Ocular Trauma Society of India was created by like minded ophthalmic professionals with the idea to assimilate information, evolve uniform treatment protocols and generate epidemiological data regarding ocular trauma in India. One of its key issues is the formation of a registry – which aims to form a Pan -India database of ocular injuries, their nature, course and outcomes. However at the core of OTSI remains the drive to create awareness regarding the grave nature of ocular trauma, the need for preventive care and eventually the evolution of ocular trauma – as a distinct subspeciality of ophthalmic care. OTSI has and continues to be a productive platform to exchange ideas, knowledge and experience and standardize treatment modalities.
